Core team with extensive medical device experience and partnership in both distributions and supply chain

Nick brings over five years of R&D medical device experience working at Philips Healthcare. While at Philips, Nick was part of the software development and pressure guide wire team that developed next-generation intravascular imaging (IVUS) and fractional flow reserve (FFR) technologies. Nick’s experience in software and medical device development provides a holistic system design background for developing modern-day medical devices.


Nick holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego.


Nick Hyun

Mike has been developing medical devices since 1978, starting in the skilled trades area as a machinist.  He has designed and built prototype and production products, tools, and machines utilizing CAD and CAM skills.  Most recently, Mike was an R&D Manager at Acacia and Medela over the past 13 years.


Mike is an Army veteran and has been named an inventor on numerous innovative medical device patents. Mike holds a journeyman machinist certification from Wisconsin, and he has accumulated formal credits from a variety of Universities.  He is an expert in modern CAD/CAM, CNC machining, rendering, animation, analysis, and medical specific materials and processes.


Mike Fleury

Dan brings broad experience to Amelia Health Partners having spent 33 years in the medical device industries in many different senior management capacities.  Most recently, Dan served as the Vice President in Healthcare business unit and Enteral Feeding business at Medela from 2014 to 2018.  Dan also was the Founder and President of Acacia, responsible for launching many new and innovative medical devices that were successfully divested to Becton Dickinson, Smith Medical, Medela, and Oratec Interventions and others.


Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA degree in Marketing from National University.   He is currently working on a Ph.D. in I-O psychology at Grand Canyon University.

Dan Hyun

Rene brings over nine years of international leadership experience as a warfare officer in the U.S. Navy, with 3 deployments to the Asia Pacific and the Middle East regions. With a demonstrated ability to build winning teams and grow organizational value, Rene’s expertise includes marketing management, talent development, operations and technical management, and many areas of risk management and governance.


Rene holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the California Maritime Academy, and he is a currently working on an MBA at IESE Business School.


Rene Hyun

Kara brings over 6 years of quality system experience to Amelia Health Partners working with medical devices ranging from Class I to Class III. Kara held various quality systems positions at Acacia, Medela, The HydraFacial Company and Glaukos. She was responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, as well as quality control processes.


Kara holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Southern New Hampshire University and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
